Club Rules

These rules ensure a safe, enjoyable, and fair environment for all members. All members are expected to familiarise themselves with and abide by these guidelines as well as our Club Constitution and the following Badminton England policies:

Membership & Fees


  • Annual membership fee of £160 must be paid in full upon joining (speak to a member of the committee if you need to pay in installments)
  • Visitors may attend up to 3 sessions at £7 per session before full membership is required
  • Visitor fees will be deducted from annual membership if joining within the same season
  • Associate membership with pay and play available for those unable to take out full membership, please contact us for details.
  • Membership fees are non-refundable except in exceptional circumstances 

Court Etiquette & Behaviour


  • Respect all players, officials, and club property at all times
  • Non-marking court shoes must be worn on court - no exceptions
  • Mobile phones must be on silent and calls should not be taken on court 

Playing Standards


  • Club nights are intended for intermediate/advanced players
  • Players should be able to maintain a competitive standard of play
  • Players are expected to understand the rules of the game and rotations so the environment remains safe for everybody 

Equipment & Facilities


  • Players must bring their own rackets - club rackets are not provided
  • The club provides hybrid feather shuttles for all sessions
  • Damage to club equipment or venue facilities must be reported immediately
  • Personal equipment should not be left unattended at the venue
  • Use of venue changing rooms and facilities must comply with venue rules

Health & Safety


  • Players participate at their own risk and should ensure they are fit to play
  • Any injuries must be reported to club officials immediately
  • Players with contagious illnesses should not attend sessions

Club Conduct


  • Unsporting behaviour, verbal abuse, or aggressive conduct will not be tolerated
  • Disputes should be resolved through club officials, not on court
  • Discrimination or harassment of any kind will result in immediate suspension
  • Club committee decisions are final and must be respected
  • Members representing the club externally should uphold club values
